ACTIVATE SPACE

As travel took a pause for a while, we embraced the idea that “IT IS NOT HOW FAR WE GO, BUT WHY WE GO” (a slogan by RIMOWA). We decided to channel this into our own goal: DESIGN WITH A PURPOSE!

For RIMOWA’s Pop-Up, which will embark on a roadshow across Asia, we aimed to create a distinctive and transportable space that reflects the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and #Ingenieurskunst (the art of engineering).

The exterior design of the pop-up is inspired by Jan Benthem’s Benthem House from 1984—a lightweight structure with minimal building components and materials, leaving no trace upon removal, and a pared-down interior.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to RIMOWA for entrusting us with this inspiring project. We are immensely proud of the pop-up we’ve created together, and it has been a true pleasure collaborating with the RIMOWA team. This project has resulted in a uniquely impactful brand experience, and we are thrilled with the outcome.

This journey is about exploration, going beyond mere craftsmanship to embrace the brand's purpose and the emotional essence of creation since 1898. Travelling brings joy.

Drawing inspiration from the RIMOWA luggage, the interior space reflects a journey through the brand's culture, from its heritage to the present day. The design showcases the evolution of the suitcase—from wooden trunks to the iconic aluminum cases with grooves—highlighting the meticulous German engineering and craftsmanship. It also explores the broader range of products, including lifestyle items and new collaborations within the LVMH group.

Throughout their visit to the pop-up, we want customers to experience the brand as a time capsule, journeying through its history. They'll explore the evolution from wooden suitcases to modern innovations, witnessing the production process and the quest for perfection across different eras, materials, and stories.
